Catholic National Library
The site for the Catholic National Library (located in Farnborough) is designed in DreamWeaver using images supplied by the Library. The site has been set up so that it can be maintained by the Library using Contribute. The site includes an on-line catalogue which the Library is in the process of populating. The site has a fluid design which means that its width grows and shrinks depending on the size of the browser window (it works best for resolutions of 800x600 and above but is readable on smaller screens).
Casa Viladeira
A personal website which advertises a self-catering holiday. This is a fixed width site with a design inspired by photos supplied by the owners.
Downs Cottage Nursing Home
A small business website. The client was looking for a carefully budgeted solution. After discussion we agreed to design a basic template using a colour scheme of his choice and images he supplied. He then used the template to create his own pages in Dreamweaver.
West Wight Arts Association
West Wight Arts Association is a charity that runs an annual season of chamber music concerts. Their site had been created many years ago and was maintained on a voluntary basis. In 2010 their webmaster retired and ByteHaven was employed to build a modern site. ByteHaven re-structured the site paying particular attention to search engine optimisation and usability. The visuals were provided by a volunteer. Tuition was provided as part of the package so that the Association could make on-going minor changes to the site. ByteHaven handles the major annual update when the new season's concerts are added.
Ventnor Botanical Artists
Ventnor Botanical Artists meet monthly at Ventnor Botanical Gardens to paint and exchange ideas and expertise. They have an annual exhibition where they sell their work. They approached ByteHaven because they wanted to create a website to exhibit and sell their work. After discussing their needs in detail we decided to set their site up using the ZenPhoto open source photo gallery. ZenPhoto was chosen because it has a reputation for clean, simple admin interface and was deemed suitable for users with little IT experience. A pages plugin was used to provide content management, so the whole site can be edited by the artists themselves.
West Wight Developments
West Wight Developments is a local family-run building company which undertakes the building of small estates of eco-homes, does contract work for other developers, builds "dream homes" for individuals, builds driveways and access roads. They wanted a new site. After detailed discussion a basic structure for the site was agreed, ByteHaven created a design based on WWD's logo, wrote content drawn from the discussion and other materials provided and adapted a JavaScript slideshow to fit the design.
Drellden Computer Services Ltd
A small business website. This site is fixed width, its design based on the company's logo and letter-head. The Links page on this site is generated by an offsite ASP page run against a local database.
CSJ Library Catalogue
A charity which provides information about the Camino de Santiago. The on-line library catalogue is searchable on several fields and has a full text search. The catalogue is maintained off-line and has a mechanism for keeping the on-line version up-to-date. It uses MySQL database and PHP programming language.
The Odyssey Partnership
This is an Epsom based hypno-therapy service. This site features a CSS based menu. It is fixed width. Its design was the result of liaison between ByteHaven and the client.
William James Motors
